Dr. Naoky Tsai helped establish the first liver transplant program in Hawai‘i at St. Francis Medical Center and has served as a Liver Transplant Program and Liver Center Medical Director for 20 years. His current appointment as Medical Director at The Queen’s Medical Center began in 2012. Dr. Tsai has been involved in the care and management of over 180 liver transplant patients.

A brilliant physician who is extremely dedicated to his patients, Dr. Tsai’s interests are in the management and study of chronic liver disease. His research interest is on the natural history and progression of chronic liver disease. Dr. Tsai has been involved in numerous drug trials for liver disease, he has been awarded major National Institutes of Health grants, and his work has been extensively published in medical journals. Dr. Tsai also serves as Clinical Professor of Medicine for the University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine.
